Photo of an etching on a zinc plate (technique "au sucre sauté"). In the beginning was the end (read this for instance as "birth includes already death"). This etching exists in B/W and in a multitude of colorful variations. I was shocked that most graphical artists only used black ink and were afraid of using colored inks. So with the artogance of a first year student I showed them! My teacher, the great Louis Collet, loved this work and exchanged it for one of his own etchings. I guess he showed his other pupils also something. The etching class of LC is one the highlights of my life and the bunch of people I met there are still friends and alive and kicking. I love etching and etchers, mail and femail. Painters could learn a lot from the "graphical anarchist mentality".
