Intervention on a large mail art envelope, mailed to Jacky Charmouan in France.
Mixed media: collage, ink, water colours, acryl paint and wood glue.
A tribute also to a less known book of George Orwell, one of the first investigation journalism books. Orwell became part of the poor and homeless in the thirties and reported what he had witnessed. A shrill contrast with the embedded journalism of today which is propaganda from a safe distance while Orwell went really underground. See also his book on the Spanish civil war, he fought in the trenches with the republican forces. I don't see reporters today doing the same in Lybia for instance.
Orwell, you are one of my last heroes!!!
