A large painted envelope I mailed to Maria Fedorchuk in Russia, inspired by the song FEAR (Lily Allen). Some people are surprised I like Lily Allen, she's a pop idol with "jolly sounding songs" but if you listen to the lyrics you know she's a F ****** "submarine". She does social satire on a grand scale. The song FUCK YOU is an uppercut to the Bush administration and to all bigots and racists (but the music is pleasant and nice and happy even). The song Fear beats any Madonna lyrics.
Some lines here:
I want to be rich and I want lots of money
I don't care about clever
I don't care about funny
I want loads of clothes and fuckloads of diamonds
I heard people die while they're trying to find them
I'll take off my clothes and it will be shameless
Cause everyone knows that's how you get famous
and so on
My advise is not only to dance to Lily Allen songs but also to listen to her words, she's better today than Bob Dylan in his quest for a christian god, folks.
Lily is a rebel goddess with humor and that's how I like them !!
Oh yes, Maria has a project on "Music Lovers for Mail Art" and started a group on IUOMA around that idea.
